The shop will close early this Saturday at 2:15pm as we roll out to our friends’ wedding leading a mini-critical mass wedding ride from the shop!
Then, as usual, the shop will be closed all next week(July 23rd-28th) for ragbrai.
We shall return with great excitement & anticipation the following Tuesday to regular schedule!

Also, round two of Walz cycling caps have been in. The vast majority of these are wool & have ear flaps for keeping your head nice & toasty when the temperature outside is not.

Here are a couple more wheels that I hand-built for customers!
This one is a Phil Wood fixed gear hub that is disc brake compatible. This wheel was built up for fixed gear mountain biking. Yes, you read that correctly! An Alex Adventurer rim laced up with Wheelsmith double-butted spokes make this wheel nothing short of solid & awesome!
This one is a Shimano Alfine internal 8 speed hub also laced up to an Alex Adventurer rim using Wheelsmith double-butted spokes in a four-cross pattern.

Here is the first of a bunch of wheels that I have hand-built for customers recently! This is the second set of wheels I have built for a customer in Solon.
The rear wheel is comprised of a Surly Rolling Darryl rim(powder-coated white!) laced up with black Wheelsmith double butted spokes to a Shimano XT rear hub. Likewise for the front, but with a Surly disc brake compatible fixed gear hub.
The wheels had to be built off center to accommodate Surly’s frame & fork which have the same offset.
Here’s a tandem wheelset I built up to go on a customer’s Burley tandem.

After! They are 48 hole Phil Wood tandem hubs laced up to Velocity Chukker rims with Wheelsmith DB spokes in a four-cross lacing.
These things are strong & built to last!
